Friends of India Association of Cedar Rapids (FOICR) was established on June 12, 1994 by a group of concerned people of Indian origin. It was created in order to cherish our Indian heritage as well as to sustain and share our unique cultural identity. By the way of this forum people can get together, exchange views and participate in various activities of the association. The objectives are as follows:
Provide a forum for members to meet and exchange views and to provide them with the opportunity to cooperate, participate and take leadership in as all activities of the association.
Organize cultural entertainment and educational programs for the benefit of the membership and the community
Be representative voice to the local mass media on matters relating to the Indian community
Serve as a platform for fundraising for humanitarian causes, such as aid for victims of natural disasters
Cooperate with other organizations in programs of common interest
Support any activity heretofore unlisted, but deemed appropriate by the members of the association.
